About Helixx

Helixx C. Armageddon is a storyteller intrigued with exploring the human condition through performance art and experimental/avant-garde Hip-Hop. She weaves together poetry, music and fashion to shift her audiences from observers to participants.

Known for impassioned performances, Helixx channels a space for community, connection and dialogue. For her, words are powerful and create more than narrative; words create action and momentum towards a more just world.

Helixx has performed in notable venues around New York City including Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre, Hammerstein Ballroom, Knitting Factory, Gene Frankel Theatre, Howl! Happening, Blue Note Jazz Club, Tibet House US, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center and the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art.

About the album House of Helixx - Book 1

Dripping with pensive emotion and sincerity, House of Helixx - Book 1 is a heady, cinematic conceptual album that is both a memoir and lucid dream, written and performed by New York City native, raconteur and long established lyricist Helixx C. Armageddon.

Grounded in muddy, swampy, meditative soundscapes by producer /engineer Shanty Gallos, in-tandem with brooding, otherworldly hand-drawn illustrations and creative direction by multidisciplinary artist Ian "Bub" Davis, House of Helixx is a journey unlike any other.

Featuring noteworthy guest appearances from the Anomolies gender justice collective, underground hip-hop mainstay Jise, and soulful psych-rock bandleader Kelly Finnigan of Monophonics, this 13 track art project is a communion. House of Helixx was conceived in music therapy, while Helixx was recovering from a near death experience. The album is all about mental health and talks through topics we are all dealing with today. Although she's been featured on many music releases since the 1990's this is her first album. House of Helixx: Book 2 is already in production.
